Beaufort Commissioners: Front Street Village Project Ahead Of Schedule
Beaufort commissioners in Carteret County announced Monday
the Front Street Village Project is almost 22 months ahead of schedule.
Phase two of the project, which includes a 90 room inn and a public
bistro, is expected to bring jobs, tourists, and in turn a boost to the
local economy. Construction on these facilities is expected to start
next year and be completed by 2014.
"I really thinks it's a good fit for the community. It's not like someone is building a modern big complex. It's quaint and it's keeping with the architecture. I think its going to be good, " said resident David Evans.
The new inn will look directly over the Shackelford Banks where wild horses roam.
